Welcome to the dog friendly café directory. Love coffee and dogs? You’ve come to the right place! Many of us love to take our best furry friends along when we go out to enjoy a coffee or a meal. New Zealand is becoming more accommodating to canine visitors and dog friendly cafes are popping up all over the country.
Share My Pet wants to celebrate this pet friendly movement. Therefore with the help of our community we have put together this dog friendly café and restaurant directory. Please remember as a dog owner its up to you to make sure your pet is kept on a leash and under control. Always pick up after your dog and ensure they are also comfortable and well hydrated.

In 2019 Share My Pet held their “First Doggy Date event” at Beach Babylon and we were so impressed with the hip decor, seaside location and pupper friendly vibe! Beach Babylon has a special menu just for your canine companion to enjoy. They are offering all Canine Coffee Club members a free doggy biscuit with every human order for your canine buddy to enjoy.
Adelaide Trading Company Recommended by a local in Wellington who says this licensed delicatessen and café welcomes dogs and their owners inside the premises. Woof!!
Dunshea’s Deli in Khandallah has a small outdoor area of 4-5 tables that is great for socialble dogs and thier owners. Great food and coffee too.

Kai Whakapai Café and Bar Hands down, one of our favourite cafés that we came across on our trip. Excellent location overlooking the lake, incredible food, super friendly staff. It’s a real hub for both locals and visitors. Dogs are very welcome outside and we saw plenty of happy patrons and their dogs enjoying their time at Kai’s.
