Brewport Ponsonby big time dog lovers work at Brewport and every Wednesday from 4pm they have a Paws and Pints Happy Hour for four Legged pals!! Get them a free home made dog treat with every purchase, or choose something from the doggy menu!

Crumb café stop in and put your paws up in this beloved spot for excellent food, coffee and company. Arguably Auckland’s most dog-friendly café, you can order a tasty ‘puppercino’ for the ? while you take a moment or three to chill out and take part in this genuine local gem.

Crumb Café is part of the Canine Coffee Club and will serve each visiting 4 legged friend a free pupperchino with any human order.

Percy Mangere, features a familiar but fresh menu, focused on New Zealand flavours and produce. Percy is proud to pour local beverage suppliers: Atomic Coffee, Brothers Beer and Batchwell Kombucha. Dogs welcome outside, lovely open spaces and nearby on lead walking tracks.

Pocket bar and Kitchen, tucked in a corner of Grey Lynn behind the old ASB Bank, Pocket is a blend of natural good times and hand crafted comfort. Known to host regular Dog and Grog events.

Blue Jay’s Garden Bar and Kitchen, a hidden Gem based in Remuera. Their aim is to provide a great spot to share good times with friends & this includes our best 4 legged mates! Super dog friendly staff and a menu for our canines to select from. Woof!

Café Etiquette- Top tips from a pro

Follow Max’s top 5 tips on how to ensure your pup puts their best paws forward when out and about. As more places become pet friendly it’s up to pet parents and furry guests to be mindful of others. This way everyone can enjoy shared spaces!

Keep your human close, best bet is to keep them on a leash so you can be sure they don’t wander off.
If you love all the pats and scratches from people, make sure your owner gives permission first. Not all dogs like to be touched by strangers or children.
Ensure you stay hydrated and are comfy- train your human to carry a portable bottle for you. Many cafes offer fresh water to their 4 legged patrons, share with other woofs.
If you do a poop- let your owner know so they can scoop it up. Never poop and dash.
Keep in mind not all people love dogs- hard to believe but true. Keep the barking for the home guard duties and mail deliveries.

When Max isn’t out and about enjoying the café scene he is busy with his work as a canine therapy dog. Spreading the love and being the good-est boy is second nature to Max. He also participates in SPCA street appeals and regularly shows his support for animal welfare throughout NZ.
