I’m a mum with three kids 5-10 and an elderly cat. I would LOVE to get them a dog but I my life is busy so I just can’t commit to being a dog owner at the moment.
If you live near me and have a dog my kids and I can hang out and bond with, that would make me a very happy mum. We are a fit and active family with a big old car which is suitable for taking a dog on outings, and I can easily pop up a temp fence to have some overnights at my place.
Smaller dogs would be preferred as the 5yr olds understandably find big dogs a bit intimidating especially if they’re young and playful.
