Sky is a beautiful 7 year old blue collie with one blue and one brown eye, who loves pats and naps. I recently adopted her from an older couple who were heartbroken to say goodbye, she was well loved and absolutely doted on, and you can tell. She’s great with kids but cannot for the life of herself figure out how to use a frisbee which makes them sad, she loves fetch but not too much as she gets a bit sore the next day, which makes them sad too!

She is usually found resting, but loves a meander and sniffing about, once she’s figured out it’s home time though that’s when she’s in a rush and the leash gets a bit tight but she isn’t a huge puller, unless she scared and trying to avoid the situation which is most often assertive cats and occasionally small yappy dogs. Generally she’s a bit of a snob and just ignores dogs, cows, sheep, horses etc.

She is a tad overweight and has fur for days so she doesn’t do well in the heat, at all! She is on a diet and while she doesn’t beg for food and only stolen an uncooked steak off of the bench once, she loves babies who get joy from throwing their food on the floor and believes that, that and cat food are fair game.

I’ve heard her bark under two circumstances. When people drive up (only happened twice, every other time she’d ignored them) and then frequently, whenever my parents cat paid her any threatening attention, and that was more a squeal / screech of pure terror – if he ignored her they peacefully co-existed. Unfortunately, their cat is a bit psycho though, feral, found in the barn on the farm and specialises in biting and scratching, tearing curtains, visiting the vets after coming off second best in fights with the cats on their street and occasionally stalking Sky because he finally found someone he could intimidate. So chilled cats are ok, psycho cats, not ok.

Before I adopted her my parents did some research in their town where she’s from and I’ll quote someone  “I don’t like dogs but I like her”.

Summary: adorable chonk whose a bit of a snob. Good with kids. Likes naps. Terrified of cats.
