I am putting out feelers to see if anyone would be interested in offering our two beautiful Shiba Inu spayed female dogs a place in their heart and home for the times that we go away.
We have several long trips planned over the next few years so it would be nice to find them somewhere they can go where they are loved while we are away. We spent 4.5 months away last year in total over several trips.
Lulu is 10 and Gemma is 4. They are very well behaved, easy to care for, good girls. They are happy to just hang out inside and definitely do not require long walks. Just a game of fetch in the backyard keeps them happy. Lulu just likes to sleep a lot these days. Gemma is a real snuggle dog and loves hugs and pats. They are incredibly soft and lovely to stroke.
They are used to children and lots of other pets (cats, kittens (we have done lots of kitten fostering and they are great kitten nannies ), chickens, horses, lambs, pet mice, rabbits, parrots etc). Lulu has lived with other dogs before however she does prefer to be the “top dog” so best if you don’t have another dog. She does get on with Gemma. (She was badly attacked when we lived in Auckland by an off leash American bulldog and now doesn’t like other dogs).
I am not sure what situation I am really looking for exactly. I love these girls sooo much (they are my furry children!) however having a house sitter (as we have normally done) won’t work this year so I’m just seeing if this is another option. I can leave them with my mum, so not completely stuck, however these dogs are so so special and I know what it’s like to want a dog and not be in the position to have one full time so perhaps there is the perfect person/ teenager/ couple/ family out there that would be a perfect match for this situation. Two wonderful Shiba to love for a few months a year.
I’ll supply their black hawk biscuits so you don’t have to pay for their food. They are vaccinated, de-sexed and council registered. Never needed the vet – just normal health vet checks without issues.
They are inside dogs and are very happy to sleep in their crates (I never close the doors but if you do they don’t mind).
