Hi, we are new bulldog owners , always had Labradors before! . If you have every come across a Bully, they are the most entertaining and funny dogs every, quick description, stocky – muscular with a distinctive rolling gait, large head, folded ears, a short muzzle, a protruding lower jaw, and loose skin that forms wrinkles on the head and face. Buster is Tan and white and was one year old in November 2021. Our bully can be stubborn at times and can be a little inflexible when he doesn’t want to do something this last momentarily, and is one of their most endearing and funny Bulldog behaviours, he can be food orientated but again if he goes not want to go to bed he will simply stand and look at you so sadly it breaks your heart. He will not obey a command when he do not feel like doing it, but mostly loves to please, don’t take his stubbornness for any sign of stupidity, he is one cool dude, and we love him to bits. He is our son’s best mate and Buster waits for our son every morning by the kitchen door to come down and give him his morning hug, he loves to come in for snuggles and loves to play soccer and go for walks. He is a great boy and a handsome young dog – learning like any young teenager. Buster is certainly a crowd pleaser and wherever we go out walking or to the beach, people will stop and chat to us about him. As we are a super busy family the occasional extra day out or extra walk with another dog would be most welcomed, and open to the occasional sleepover.
On the intelligence front bullies are ranked around 77 with French Bulldogs ranked at 58. Bulldogs rank at the lowest degree of working/obedience intelligence, so would be hopeless rounding up sheep, research says they understand new commands after 80-100 tries and obey the first command 25% of the time or worse, do not be put off by that, they are the best mates and coolest dogs ever, and Buster our Bully is one cool dude!
