Name

Bruce

Type of pet

Dog

Location

Auckland 1025, New Zealand

Looking for someone that would be interested in caring for Bruce in a short or longer-term capacity due to relocation of our family from Christchurch to Auckland. Happy to look into various types of arrangements depending on what suits you best. Would be ideal for someone that wanted a fulltime dog for a period but may not be able to commit long term. Potentially, you could become primary care giver for a period that was best for you, but we could still be available to support if/as needed (as mentioned happy to consider a range of different arrangements also including permanent adoption if the circumstances were right).

A bit about Bruce:

He really is the ‘best dog’, like no other dog we’ve known. He is extremely caring of his family and loves to be around his humans and do lots of fun stuff with them. His humans do need to be experienced with the traits of a Doberman (or similar breeds) to ensure that he understands expectations and positively channels his natural caring, protective and sensitive behaviours. Bruce is intelligent and understands commands, routines and expectations.

  • Likes: walks, runs, playing, food, watching and being close to family, pats and cuddles, beach, mountain biking in the forest, boisterous play with other big dog friends, lying around and relaxing.
  • Dislikes: hedgehogs, the mailman, the beeping sound that smoke alarms make when the battery is low, crates or cages, boisterous or rough play between humans, being alone or away from family, things that he perceives as a threat to his family (i.e. to him – all of the above).

We would be keen to discuss further if you think you would be a good match with Bruce and could offer him the care that he needs for a period that could vary depending on your circumstances. We are a family of five and have one other dog.
